The bottleneck

If you have ever tried to bring a new investment idea to the market, you know the friction.

You have a thesis. A real estate fund in the GCC, a tokenised private credit basket, a digital asset strategy with a Shariah filter, a commodity-backed certificate for a family office that wants exposure but cannot hold the underlying directly. The idea is clear in your head.

Then you start the process.

Three meetings with a banker. Two with the AMC issuer. A call with the Shariah scholar. A spreadsheet from a custodian. A redline from a lawyer. Weeks before you see the first draft of what your structure would look like, weeks more before an ISIN comes out the other end. The cost of this friction is not the fees. It is the ideas that never leave the napkin.

That is the bottleneck we are working on.

What we built

This week we put the Asset Builder online.

It is, in the simplest description, a Swiss structurer in a browser tab. A way to assetize an investment idea or a funding need without booking three meetings to start the conversation.

How it works

The flow is deliberately short.

The first step is yours. You describe the idea or the funding need. Asset class, jurisdiction, size, the constraints that matter to you. Real-world assets, active strategies, tokenised baskets, structured exposures. The tool does not narrow you. It listens.

The second step is ours. The team reviews. We look at what is structurable today and what would require additional work, at what Shariah governance the product needs, at what Swiss regulatory frame fits. You get a real human answer.

The third step is a conversation. We get on a call. We refine the structure. We map it to the Cipher One infrastructure stack: Swiss SPV/AMC vehicles, ISIN listing, Bloomberg visibility, and Shariah review.

The fourth step is the product. An investable instrument, with an identifier, in your distribution channels.

Why it matters and why this is new

Look around. Where else can a structurer, an asset owner, or a family office submit an investment idea and walk out with a Shariah-compliant, Swiss-structured, ISIN-ready product at the end of the line?

Not in conventional structuring. Financial factories will wrap your strategy and emit a certificate. They do not do Shariah governance. They do not always understand why a Muslim family office cares whether the SPV holds a fractional interest in a real asset or a debt claim dressed up as one.

Not in Islamic finance. Many serious institutions exist, but they are not in Switzerland, and they do not offer a self-service door for the structurer in Geneva, London, or Paris who wants to bring an idea to the market this quarter.

Not in tokenisation. The token-issuance platforms are growing, but their Shariah layer is, in most cases, a screening overlay applied to a conventional architecture. None of them is built from the ground up to combine Swiss regulatory infrastructure, Shariah governance designed at the product level, and a self-service door for the originator.

This is the first time these three are sitting in one place. We did not set out to be alone in this. We set out to fill a gap we kept being asked to fill. That nobody else is here yet tells us the gap was real.

What we promise

We are not promising that every idea becomes a product. Some will not be commercially viable at the size proposed. Some will need a longer build.

What we are promising is that the conversation starts on day one instead of week eight, and that the result, if it comes, meets both Swiss and Shariah standards from the foundation upwards.

Two asks

If you are a structurer, a wealth manager, an asset owner, a founder with a funding need, or an allocator with an idea that has been sitting in a drawer:

Open the link. Submit something. Even a sketch. swissislamicfinance.com/asset-builder.

If you are not the right person but you know one, forward this email. The millions of European Muslims I wrote about last month do not need another off-the-shelf ETF. They need structurers who understand them. Helping us reach those structurers is, today, the most useful thing you can do.

The future is now.
