Swiss Islamic Finance – Why This Name?

This isn’t just a newsletter. It’s a statement of values.

Salam

I want to bring you into the deeper meaning behind the name we’ve chosen: Swiss Islamic Finance.

It’s more than branding. It’s a framework. A direction. A promise.

Let me explain.

Swiss

Switzerland manages around 25–27% of global cross-border wealth. It’s one of the most respected financial centers in the world. And yet… when it comes to Islamic Finance, this country remains largely silent.

That has always made little sense to me.

As someone born and raised in Switzerland, I’ve seen how strong the infrastructure, regulation, and culture of excellence is in finance. But I’ve also seen how little is done to connect it meaningfully with the values and needs of Muslim investors — whether here, in Europe, or globally.

So when we say “Swiss”, it means:

  • Swiss-quality insight: professional, data-driven, and thoughtful.

  • Swiss positioning: we’re building this from the world’s banking capital.

  • Swiss responsibility: to bring clarity, transparency, and usefulness to Muslim investors.

In a country of finance, it’s time Islamic finance had a voice.

Islamic

Because not everything in traditional finance is built for us.

Islamic is not a restriction — it’s a lens.

It’s a way of seeing investment not just as opportunity, but as responsibility.

When we say “Islamic”, we mean:

  • Muslims deserve tailored, ethical, and effective solutions to grow wealth.

  • Our values are not a limitation — they’re a contribution to the future of global finance.

  • Swiss Islamic Finance wants to be a place where anyone feel informed, respected, and empowered.

Islamic Finance isn’t just about avoiding interest.

It’s about offering the world better perspectives.

Finance

Finance matters.

Not because of greed — but because money is a tool.

A tool to build your life. To support your family. To give, to grow, to serve.

When the Prophet ﷺ built the city of Madinah, he placed two institutions at the center:

👉 The mosque, and the market.

That’s not a coincidence.

Finance is not separate from our faith.

In Islam, finance has always been linked to liberation:

  • Zakat: a system of wealth circulation.

  • Waqf: a structure for public good and legacy.

  • Sadaqah: a reminder that wealth is not owned, but entrusted.

And perhaps most importantly:

Islamic Finance is — at its core — about financial freedom.

And that is what I wish for every reader of this newsletter.
